It begins with a tour of Georgetown, where you’ll visit iconic landmarks like St. George’s Cathedral, the Sea Walls, and the Botanical Gardens, followed by a visit to the awe-inspiring Kaieteur Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in the world. Afterward, you’ll unwind at Baganara Island Resort, enjoying activities such as nature walks, kayaking, and boat trips to Bartica and Parrot Island. Optional excursions include a visit to Marshall Falls, with leisure time and relaxing bonfire evenings rounding out the experience before departing from Georgetown.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Sunday

Board scheduled flight from Zorg en hoop in Suriname to land at Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Guyana. (departure 0730hrs local time, arrival 0745hrs local time)
Pick up from the airport and transfer to a nearby local restaurant for breakfast.
0845hrs transfer to Georgetown. This morning, the tour will take you through Georgetown, the capital city of Guyana, also known as the “Garden City”. The breathtaking architecture of centuries gone by will surely provide scenic views, which will be etched in your memory for a long, long time.
You’ll be escorted by one of our experienced tour guides to see many places of interest within Georgetown, such as a drive-by of Stabroek Market, which is also called “Big Market” by the locals because it sells everything under the sun, a visit of the St. George’s Cathedral which is the tallest wooden church in the world, the National Museum, Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology, the famous, and very uniquely Guyanese, “Sea Walls”, the National Park to see the West Indian Manatees, and the Botanical Gardens.

 

At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred to Eugene F. Correia International Airport.

From Eugene F. Correia International Airport, board a scheduled flight to Kaieteur Falls, where you will spend 2 hours on the ground experiencing the different views of the falls. Kaieteur Falls is the highest single-drop in the world and one of the most amazing experiences you will ever encounter. It is completely untouched, and you may also see the tiny golden rocket frog and the amazing brilliantly orange Cock-Of-The-Rock bird.
Enjoy a packed lunch and refreshments at the Kaieteur National Park welcome center.

Re-board the aircraft for diversion flight to drop off at Baganara Island Resort.

Baganara is a rainforest resort located five miles from Bartica in the Essequibo River. This 187 acre private island effortlessly blends the comforts of a scenic retreat with all the fun of an elegant, full service resort.
Thomas Island is one of the earlier names for the Island, historically linked to a British Lieutenant.
In 1989, the Correia family acquired the Island and renamed it to its original name Baganara an indigenous word. By 1994 the famous Baganara Façade was taking shape, visitors would marvel at the transformation of a wild jungle to a serene paradise.
In 1995, construction of an airstrip and a manager’s facility was underway. The facility and the island were used as the venue for numerous training seminars and management retreats.
In 1996 the Island was transformed into an Island Resort Facility.
On arrival at the Island, you will be greeted and briefed by your host after which you will be assigned to your room.

Day 02 :
Saturday

0630hrs: Early morning nature trail walk or kayaking in the creek
0730hrs: Breakfast
0900hrs: we depart via boat for an excursion to the nearby mining town of Bartica.
1200hrs:Lunch
Afternoon at leisure
1645hrs: board a boat for an excursion to Parrot Island.
1830hrs: Dinner
1930hrs: Bonfire on the beach (dependent on weather)
Overnight at Baganara Island Resort. BLD

Day 03 :
Sunday

0730hrs: Breakfast
Morning at leisure / 0900hrs (Optional Marshall Falls tour – GYD 15,000 / USD 75 per person, min of 10 pax)
1230hrs: Lunch
After lunch, board a regional diversion flight for the journey to Eugene F. Correia International Airport. (Flight time will be determined the day prior)
Pick up and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight in a standard room at Grand Coastal Hotel. (Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am). BL

Day 04 :
Monday

Breakfast at your hotel.
Pick up and transfer to Eugene F. Correia International Airport for your departure flight. (0815hrs or 1015hrs or 1330hrs departure flight) B

  • You’re also required to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate for entry into Suriname and Guyana.
  • Each person will be allowed a maximum of 15 Kg (33lbs) weight as baggage allowance for the scheduled Suriname flights.
  • Baggage allowance for internal flights in Guyana is 20lbs per person.
